Come along to ‘Strictly Social’ and learn and enjoy one of life’s great pleasures – Ballroom dancing..
Even if you’re convinced you’ve got two left feet, then we can guarantee you will go away from our classes with one of each !
Ballroom dancing is such a great fun way to learn a new skill and make new friends and open up a whole new social circle. Easily affordable, and an excellent way to meet new people and share your dance experience.
There are classes for beginners and progressers at the Nicholls Hall in Lydford and also for those who have never danced before and would love to take the plunge, there is also a class for ABSOLUTE beginners also at Lydford – just come along anytime and you’ll soon fit in, catch up and enjoy.
Give it a try. You may not reach ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ standards, but you will have a lot of fun trying…

Cost of Lessons:
Monday – £10.00 per person
Wednesday – £5.00 per person per hour
What to wear:
The nice thing about Ballroom dancing is that you don’t really need any special form of clothing when you start out.
Ideally, just some light and comfortable clothes – remember, it is a physical sport, so you will generate a bit of heat, so nothing too heavy !
Shoes – for men
Ideally, light and comfortable and not with thick rubber soles …
Shoes – for ladies
Same rules apply for the ladies. If you’re comfortable in high heels, then wear them ! – probably best for them not to be more than 2 to 2-1/2 inch heels though.
Do I need a partner?
Ballroom and Latin dance is obviously a partner sport so to get the most enjoyment from it you need someone to dance with !
However if you don’t have a current dance partner – or your in-life partner just doesn’t want to dance, then we will usually be able to get you someone to dance with as most nights we have some really good and regular helpers – men and women (or women who can dance as man ..), so if you do come alone, then you will get to dance !
